The day after...

“Good morning, sleepyhead.”
At the sound of his mother’s voice, the baby Blaze awoke from his calm sleep.  Opening his eyes he found the pacifier given to him last night was still in his mouth, and he spit it out.  He also noticed that the disposable diaper covering his area was soaking wet.
“Oh no...I wet mysewf agaiwn...”
Aurora came to the crib and picked him up out of it, while Blaze was wiping his eyes.
“Ugh...what tiwme is iwt?”
He looked at the clock on the room wall, finding that he was no longer able to tell time.
“It’s a little past noon.” His mother replied. “You had quite a long sleep.  Oh, and it seems you’re wet too.  Come on, I’ll change you.”
Aurora placed him on the changing table and untaped his diaper, then powdered him and taped a new one on him.
“There you go, Blaze.  Nice and dry.  Now, how about some food?”
“Yus!” Blaze said, realizing he was starving from sleeping through breakfast.
“He-he, okay then.  Let’s bring you downstairs.”
“Okey Mommy.”

Blaze was brought down into the kitchen by his mother.  Aurora fed him with a bottle of milk and at least 6 spoonfuls of baby food.  Shockingly, Blaze found that was all he could eat with his new body.
“Oooooh...I’m stuwfed.”
This time, Aurora was able to pick him up and burp him.  She put Blaze down on the ground, and after the pup got to his feet and started walking.
“Blaze,” Aurora asked, “could you please not use your legs?”
“Wha?  Why nowt?”
“It makes me think you’re still independent.  I want you to be completely dependent of me while you’re like this.”
“But-!”
“Please Blaze?  For me?”
Blaze looked at his stubby toddler legs and sighed, then looked back up at his mother.
“Oh alwight.  I’ll be mowe depwendewnt.”
“Thank you, sweetie.”
Blaze willingly fell on his padded bottom, then reached for his mother as she came over to pick him up.
“Can I at weast have somethwing two do?  Wike a toy ow somethwing?”
“Well, I’m sure at least one of your possessions must’ve regressed with you.  Let’s go look through your room.”
“Okey.”

Aurora carried the red pup into his nursery and began to look through his closets.  Blaze looked around his room in terror now, seeing all his old possessions were baby-fied.  All the toys in his closet were now toys that suited the baby that he was, including his video games and music CDs.
“Aww, my stuwf...”
“Don’t worry, Blaze.” Aurora looked at him and smiled. “They’ll change back to your regular things when you return to normal.”
“Okey.  As wong as dey dun’t stay wike this...”
“Just don’t worry about that.  Now, which toy do you want?”
Blaze sighed and pointed at a rattle in the closet.  It didn’t exactly suit his age, and therefore it was odd finding it in there.  But he didn’t care as long as it made his mother happy.  Aurora picked up the rattle, put it in the toddler’s hand, and placed him in the crib.
“There you go.  Would you like some more milk so you don’t get hungry?”
“Yus, that wouwd be niwce.” Blaze replied.
“Okay then.  I’ll be right back.”
Aurora left the room, and then Blaze’s eyes wandered to the rattle in his hand.  He shook the colorful toy, finding it interesting for some reason.  He found joy in it, and the next thing he knew he found himself giggling.  Shocked at hearing himself, he dropped the rattle and put his hands over his mouth.
“Was that me?” Blaze thought. “Maybe I’m getting a little carried away with this...”
“Okay, I’m back.” The toddler heard his mother say as she walked through the door.
She handed him a baby bottle full of milk, and he began to suck on it.
“Don’t finish it all at once.” Aurora told him. “That needs to last you till’ supper.”
Blaze drank a little bit of the milk, but found that he was still very full from the meal he just had.  He put the bottle down and returned to the rattle.  Picking it up and shaking it, he started giggling again.  His mother was shocked at the giggle at first, but then she smiled and left the room.
Blaze looked around the room with his big baby eyes.  The colorful walls were fascinating to him for some reason.
“Why’s everything so...interesting?” Blaze though. “Oh no, is my mind regressing!?”
He banged on his head, thinking of all the things he knew when he was 16.  Every single memory, every fact and lesson he learned, it was all still there.
“I still have my 16-year-old mind.” He thought. “Then what’s wrong with me!?”
He calmed down and deeply exhaled a few times, then simply ignored his problem.
“Oh well.  If I still have my own brain, then I’m fine.” He thought. “No need to get all worked up.  Besides, Mom wouldn’t want me to stop now.  She’s done so much for me over the years; I at least have to do this for her.  Now, let’s see...”
Blaze crawled over to grab his milk, but then he heard his stomach grumble.
“Uh oh.  I gotta go to da bafwoom agaiwn!”
He closed his eyes and tried to hold it in, but then he changed his mind and took his mother’s advice.
“Remember what your mom said, Blaze.” He thought. “It’s okay for a baby like you to mess himself.  Just think of something else.”
Able to think of no better distraction, he reached for his rattle.  He shook it and giggled, then looked at the colorful walls again.  When he looked back at his diaper afterwards, it was full and he didn’t have to go anymore.
“Whew,” Blaze thought, “there.  That wasn’t so hard.”
He got to his feet and walked to the edge of the crib closest to the still open door.  He grabbed two of the bars with his hands, and shouted out for his mother.  His shouting, however, was not a cry for help.  It was as if he was simply letting his mother know.
“Mommy.  I made a big one in meh diapew.”
His mother came into the room, smiling, and picked him up out of the crib.
“I toowk youw adviwce, Mommy.” Blaze said, looking up at her smiling face. “I didn’t think abouwt iwt, and iwt came ouwt.”
“Good for you.  See, wasn’t that much easier?”
“Yus!  It stiw smells bad, ‘dough.”
“I bet.  You weren’t joking when you said ‘a big one’.”
“Can you change meh pwease?”
“Of course, baby.”
Aurora placed him on the table and changed his diaper.

The next day...

Trace was walking by and seeing Aurora caring for Blaze in the kitchen.  He decided to come up and say something to his brother.
“You know it’s still embarrassing to see you like this.”
“You should wegwess youwself too, Twace!  It’s fun when you’we in contwol.”
“Yeah right.  Like I’m gonna degrade myself that much.  Besides, Mom seems happy enough when you’re one.”
“Come on, Twace!  Think of aww Mommy’s downe fow you!”
“You really should, Trace.” Aurora turned and told him. “I’m having fun, and Blaze seems to be enjoying himself.”
Trace looked at his regressed brother, then closed his eyes and sighed.
“Alright I’ll do it.  But can I at least be A LITTLE older than him?”
“Of course, sweetie.” Aurora smiled. “Thank you.”
“Mm hmm.” Trace nodded, then he headed up to Blaze’s room to find the spell book.
Before he reached the stairs, however, Blaze stopped him.
“Twace, wait!”
Trace turned back around.
“What?”
“If you wanna be a wittle oldew ‘dan me, say the last wowd of ‘da spell diffewent.”
“Umm...okay.”
He then went up the stairs.
Aurora and Blaze heard him shuffle around up there, then a great big flash came from the room.  They heard a high voice making sounds as if its source was struggling to walk, then a small brown pup in enormous clothes came tumbling down the stairs.
“Twace!” Blaze shouted excitedly.
The brown pup got up and his pants fell off him.  He still felt something around his waist, so he pulled up his shirt.  What he found was a pair of blue Training Pants covering his area.
“Training pants!?”
Blaze giggled.  Trace came toward him and got mad.
“Blaze, what the hell!?  You said it would make me a little older than you if I said the last word wrong!  But look; I’m the same size you are!!”
“It did keep you oldew ‘dan me, Twace.” Blaze replied. “I’m 2, while you’we 2 and a half.”
Trace sighed.
“Well I suppose I walked into that one, not saying exactly how old I wanted to be.  I shoulda guessed I was about 2 and a half from the Pull-ups...”
“Be caweful, Twace.  Youw speech is gonna wegwess in a wittle while too.”
Aurora came and picked Trace up, pulling him out of his enormous shirt.
“Aww, look how cute you are!  You’re nearly as adorable as Blaze!”
“Okay yeah, I’m a toddler.  Now what?”
“Aww, but you’re barely young enough to be considered a baby.  Another year up and you’d just be a regular child.  Oh, and those training pants will never do.  We’ll have to diaper you.”
“What!?  Aren’t twaining pants humiliating enuff!?”
After shouting, Trace covered his mouth.  His speech just regressed with him.  He started crying, hating his baby experience already.  Also, without knowing it, Trace wet himself.  After crying for a few minutes, he finally noticed it and looked down.  His training pants were now a green-ish color from the pee that they absorbed.  With watery eyes, he looked up at his mother.  She just smiled.
“What do you say to that diaper now?”
Trace closed his eyes, wiped his tears away, and nodded.
“Okay,” Aurora smiled, “Let’s get you to your room.”
Trace gasped.  He knew that his room must’ve turned into a nursery like Blaze’s did.  He screamed and banged on his mother, begging for her to not take him to his room.
“Please no!!  I dun’t wanna see my room baby-fied!!”
Aurora opened the door and Trace found a completely different room.  It wasn’t quite a nursery; it had a bed instead of a crib and for that he was relieved.  There was also no changing table.  However, the walls were colorful and childish.
“Well, it’s not as bad as I t’ought.”
Aurora, however, was not pleased with it.
“Oh, this will never do.  I guess you’ll just have to use Blaze’s room.”
“What!?  Noooooo!!!”
He started banging on his mother again as she walked back in the kitchen, picked up Blaze, and went upstairs.

After putting Blaze in the crib, Aurora placed Trace on the changing table and slid off his training pants.  She placed them in the nearby garbage, powdered him, and taped a puffy disposable diaper around his area to replace it.
“There you go, little Trace.  Nice and clean.”
Trace pouted, crossing his arms as he was picked up and placed in the crib next to Blaze.  The younger red pup, seeing his big brother diapered, couldn’t help but giggle.  In response, Trace turned his head and gave Blaze an angry stare.
“Shut up.”
“He-he, sowwy Twace.  It’s just...you’we weawing a diapew!”
“Yeah, sow what?  You’we wearing one too.”
“Yeah, but at least it suits my awge.  You should be in twaining pants, but you’we in a diapew.”
Blaze then looked over at his full bottle of milk that was still in the crib.
“I’m a wittle hungwy now.  I can have some of my miwk.”
He picked up the bottle and drank some of it down.  After drinking about half of it, he was full again.
“Ugh...’dat’s bettew.”
He turned to his brother and held the bottle out.
“You want some miwk, Twace?”
Trace turned his head away.
“Not if it’s got youw germs all ovew it.”
He then heard his stomach grumble.  Aurora, hearing the grumbling herself, spoke.
“Oh, I bet you’re hungry huh?  Don’t worry Trace, I’ll get you some milk too.  I’ll be right back; you boys be good.”
She walked out of the room and the two baby-fied boys heard their mother go down the stairs.
Trace got on his feet and grabbed the bars of the crib.
“Don’t walk on youw legs.” Blaze told him. “Mommy won’t wike it.”
“The hell with Mommy!” Trace replied, shocked at how he called his mother but cast the thought aside as he continued. “I can walk on my legs and I have the wight to!”
“Mommy doesn’t want us to be independwent.  She wants us to wely on hew while we like ‘dis.”
Trace reluctantly sat back down, crossing his arms and pouting again.
“Man, I’m hating this alweady!  When do we change back?”
“Dun know.  My spell’s nevew lasted ‘dis long befowe.  I dun’t know if it will weaw owf.”
“What!?”
“No don’t wowwy, we can still change back.  We’d just have to uwse ‘da age pwogwession spell in ‘da spell book.”
“Oh cwap!”
Trace stood up again, ignoring Blaze’s suggestion on the matter, and shook the bars of the crib.
“Rggggaaaaaah!!  Let meh out!!  Let me ouwt!!!”
Aurora came back in the room and shoved a bottle of milk into his mouth.  The brown pup sat back down on his padded bottom and gulped down the milk.  When he was done and full, he belched immediately.  Aurora took the bottle away from him and spoke.
“I know you don’t like being a baby, Trace.  But please...at least try to have fun with it.  You’ll get used to it like Blaze did, trust me.”
Trace looked at Blaze, who smiled back at him, then he looked back at his mother.
“I’ll twy Mommy.”
“Alright then.  It’s already 4.  Do you boys want supper?”
Both of them shook their heads.
“I’m stuwfed!” Blaze proclaimed. “I couldn’t eat ow dwink anothew thing!  And no doubt Twace is too fwom ‘da miwk.”
“Okay.  I guess I’ll wait a little while.”
Aurora took Blaze’s half-empty milk bottle away and turned for the door.
“I’ll take this so you can save some room for supper.”
Blaze giggled and nodded, then Aurora left the room and closed the door behind her.
Trace’s stomach grumbled again, and the red pup watched him cry out.
“I gotta poo!!”
Trace tensed himself and tried to hold it in.
“No, pwease noooo!!”
“It’s owkay Twace.” Blaze assured him. “It’s okay fow babies wike us to mess ouwselves.”
“I dun’t wanna mess myself!!  And I’m nowt a baby!!”
“Twace, just-.”
“No!  I’ve already degraded myself enuff today!”
“Jus’ dun’t even think about it.  Do something ewse, and it will jus’ come ouwt.”
Trace stood up again and grabbed the crib bars, struggling even harder to hold it in.  It didn’t work, however, for he felt something come out and weigh down his diaper.  He sat down and started crying.  Blaze then tried to reassure him.
“It’s okey, Twace.  You did good; you held iwt in longer ‘dan I did.”
“I don’t cawe!  I messed mysewf!  I need a change!!”
Aurora came back into the room and picked him up, trying to comfort him just like Blaze did.
“Calm down Trace, it’s okay.”
“Nuu, it’s nowt!  It smells terrible!!  Clean me up; take it away!!”
“Okay Trace, I will.  Just please, calm down.”
She rocked the brown pup a little, and his crying turned to sniffling as he was put on the changing table.  She untaped the diaper and held her nose as she threw it in the garbage.  After powdering him, she sniffed the air.
“Phew, you stink too!  I think it’s about time you boys had a bath.”
Trace nodded willingly, wanting to smell better.  Blaze, on the other hand, was the hesitant one.
“A baff!?”
Aurora picked both of the toddlers up and took them to the bathroom.

She seated the two pups on the rugs in the bathroom, then began to run the bath water.
“You mean...we’re taking a weal baff?” Blaze asked fearfully.
“That’s right.  You are small enough now.”
“Can’t we jus’ take a showew?”
“Oh, silly Blaze.  Showers are for big boys, and I don’t see anyone here that fits that description.”
“But-!”
“Come on you; it’s just a bath!”
The tub was filled by this point, so she removed their diapers and placed them in the water.  Trace looked down at his area in the tub, shrieking at how small it had gotten.
“Look at me!  I’m so puny!”
“Now now Trace, calm down.”
She grabbed the cup that she had taken from the kitchen on the way to the bathroom and scooped up some of the water.  She poured water on Trace first, just to quiet him, then scooped up more and poured it on Blaze.  She repeated this several times, then began to wash them with shampoo.  Blaze got a bit of it in his eye and cried out in pain.
“Ow!  It stings!”
“Well if you would’ve told me ahead of time you were going to do this, I would’ve gotten some no-tear shampoo.”
“Yeah, I know.  But I jus’ felt sowwy fow you, Mommy.  If I’d known I was gonna do iwt, I woulda told you.”
“I know you woud’ve.”
Blaze smiled as Aurora continued to bathe him and his brother.

That evening she put Blaze and Trace, who were full from supper, back in their crib.
“Okay, baby boys.  Now it’s time for bed.”
“He-he, okey Mommy.” Blaze giggled. “Whewe’s my binkie?”
“Right here.” Aurora said as she put it in the toddler’s mouth.
Blaze smiled and began to suck on it.  Trace watched this and rolled his eyes.
“It’s like he was nevew a teenagew!”
“Now now Trace,” his mother told him, “don’t tease your brother.  It’s time for you to go to bed too.”
“I know.  I still dun’t like being a baby, Mommy.”
“Just give it a little more time, Trace.”
“You keep saying ‘dat, but...”
“Just don’t worry about it.  Get some sleep.”
Aurora began to pet his head, and this caused him to finally fall asleep.  Before leaving the room, she whispered something to them.
“Thank you...both of you.  Thank you for being my babies...for the second time...”
She walked out of the room, closing the door behind her as usual.
And here's part two of "A Mother's Wish".

And behold, I actually added something new! The bath scene!
It's not much, but maybe it's worth the read-back.
